Katie Geracie I'm currently a senior at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. I'm an Art History major and a Classics minor. My emphasis in art history has mostly been in ancient Greek and Roman art (because of my minor). I started taking classes at Dawn's when I was in 7th grade, and they were by far the best art classes EVER. I did art in high school for a while, but the teachers and the grading system were not for me. It was so much more inspiring to be at Dawn's where you have the freedom to be creative and have fun with art. |
I have such funny and random memories from Artist Within--like quiz games, ribbon man, the turtle war with Emily, and Dawn saving me the fortunes from her fortune cookies because she knows I collect them, thanks Dawn!
Even though I'm living out of state, I love to go back and visit the studio, and now I bring my dog, Puffin, who loves Dawn's dog treats!
Dawn is amazing with kids. Kids love her and she is great at getting the most incredible art work out of them. She is aways willing to try new things and experiment to find just the right projects for her students.
